I LOVE BB AND LANE SM!!! It's so hard to decide which one is my favorite. This is an AMAZING GAME, the art style is so pretty. I also love how mc seems so relatable, and how she doesn't put up with lane's bs sometimes. SO EXCITED FOR THE NEXT SHIFT <33
I don't usually comment on visual novels, but it's one of the best I've seen. It's very good both in terms of storyline and visual graphics, the sounds are also good and the gameplay is also very fun inside the house and in the store. I'm looking forward to the next shift, very good drawings and characters!
All the characters are really interesting and multifaceted, everyone is different than they seem on the surface. Lane, while he still is an asshole, seems like he could be fun to be around if he just got over his hangups. Amelia seems like a bubbly and fun friend, but she may be dealing with some dark stuff behind the scenes. I also think she has a past with Lane and may be his first love he talked about? Last but definitely not least, Biker Boy is a shy cutie, but definitely a lot more unhinged than he comes across.
AAAAAA SO HAPPY U FIND THE CHAR INTERESTING SWEETIE <3<3 i was actually a bit worried at first about creating characters who might just feel "useless" or secondary like they were just there to prop up BB. but its been amazing to see how much people appreciate Lane even tho hes just this normal sexist guy xD it really makes me happy to know i managed to add depth to all my characterss!! ofc shift 3 is going to dive even deeper into their stories :3<3<3
Wow, I just finished the second shift and OMG. It was insane, I played it straight through without a break because I was so hooked. Your writing is amazing and super immersive. Thanks for giving us this update, you should rest up and have fun, you totally deserve it, you did a great job and I really appreciate it. The game is amazing the horror aspect is handled so well Its awesome, to be honest I was fearing for my life hoping I don’t die in some scenes. And don’t get me on the two love interest AHHHH Lane and biker boy my opinion about those two is love and hate relationship with Lane. He can be so goddamn annoying and straight up rude asf but sometimes he is such a cutie and a dirty talker like chill😭. Some of his comments are interesting to say the list but realistic I mean the timeline is set at that times where men were more openly misogynistic 😞. Which sucks ass that he is like that but it makes sense🤓
NOW MY FAVOURITE PART THE BIKERR BOYYY don’t get me started of how much I love him. HE IS SUCH A CUTIE I love when he blushes, is speechless or just confused. His route healed something deep inside me😭 ( I WANT MORE PLS😔🙏) To be honest there is no big thing about him that makes me wanna beat his ass ( Can’t say the same about Lane🙂↕️) For now he is my favourite I can say ahhhh I just love him sooo much. I can’t put it in words what is about him that I love so much (definitely his expression are my favourite) but so far he is amazing. I mean yeah he has some moments where bro is unpleasant like him threatening you about not going to Lanes apartment. Which I didn’t like !!🙂↔️ Let me live in peace 😭 But I get it yandere shit like that I’m excited to learn more about him, he is soo mysterious and we hardly know the guy.
I got to say that shift one wad cool and it got me really interested, but shift two got me hooked. Seriously I never tried to get all the options and every easter egg, but I would do it once again because Its that good. ( i know I’m glazing so much but I want to get it off the chest😭❤️❤️) My only wish would be that is there a chance of album getting added? ( like the one that is in Tkatb) I think it would be pretty nice^^

J'ai fini! I am almost 100% sure that I've found every word, every interaction, every Easter egg in this game just from the sheer amount of will I've put in to analyzing everything. I even somehow found out that the 50% off sign says Cinquante when you click on it. After doing everything I could to find that gosh darn code (which I am also almost 100% sure I found even if it didn't work much to my chagrin and my high blood pressure) I am finally, FINALLY commenting on how absolutely FIRE this game is.
There are no words to properly explain how incredible this game was, from all sides of it. The romance, the horror, and just societal commentary, it's all so well done, I wish I could give this game 10 stars. Just wanna give my two cents about everything here (it's straight yap) :)
First of all, they're going to need the power of whatever has a lot of grip strength to drag me away from LANE. OMG MY POOKIE BEAR HE DESERVES THE WORLD (I'm his world (delusion is awesome)). He just seems like an awesome onion to unlayer. And sure, while doing so I might cry, but it will be so worth it!! Since he actually talks, it's a lot easier to get information out of him, and whoo, it is SOMETHING. I gotta get this off my chest, Lane would either be a podcast guy or a performative male in modern times and I have no idea which one would be worse. In all seriousness though, I agree with all the other lovely commenters in that this sexist, joking thing he's got going on is just a facade that hides something much deeper. I feel like he's been put down so much in his life that he refuses to let anyone in anymore. I also wonder if it has anything to do with his idea of what a man should be. (And I know there are times when he acts like a bottom which is SO hot but I also feel like that comes from some imbued satyriasis just so he can feel more in control? I can't think of a better word for it rn) But that again comes from when he mentions the Victoria Secret shows it just feels like his childhood led up to this which explains Amelia's behavior as well. Someone else said this, but I totally agree with the fact that him and Amelia are two sides of the same coin, each forced towards an extreme prejudice towards the other gender. Like the old man was saying about the dogs, he's just a big softie on the inside. I want him soooo bad. (chat the moment they approve my AO3 account, y'all are boutta see CRAZY fics bout this man he is so fine)
On to BB! (who would be so mad that he is second to Lane). His interactions are just the most interesting thing ever, both with Lane and MC! It's kinda funny imagining this giant acting like a lil guy, all demure and shy, but then I remember when he gets all scary, and I'm like, woah. This guy could kill me. I do like this kinda yandere who imo wouldn't kill and maybe not hurt MC, but they'd do more psychological damage instead. Like when MC tells him that she's going to get the keys from Lane's apartment, he makes no moves to hurting her or even says anything or threatens her, only Lane. He's still scary though, trying to just intimidate her out of going instead, and when he realizes it's not working, he stops and reverts back to what he was before. And i'm not saying that that's a fake personality or something to win MC over, I believe he's genuine in how he acts, but he's temperamental, and maybe that's worse. In terms of his relationship to MC, a lot of it seems really vague. There are some assumptions I can make. Another commenter said this about MC also being a biker, and going along with that, I feel like the two of them rode together. Maybe not MC on a bike, but they had something together before. That's why he had the helmet ready and red. Even the lines on BB's bike seemed to bring something out of MC. Also also alsoooo if anyone saw my comments about the code and what spar0w said about the hidden background, you'll understand BUT YOU CAN CONNECT THE HELMET TO THAT. WAIT OMG IT JUST CLICKED IN MY HEAD AS I WAS TYPING IT. THEY TOTALLY KNEW EACH OTHER. But that's just my theory. Anyways, he's still just a bbg, I want to squish my face into those pecs. and he needs to leave MC alone about her bills, it's hard :(
I don't have much to say about Amelia that I already haven't said before other than that she totally slays if it weren't for the fact that maybe she's just too much like her brother. I can't handle double the snark from such a girlboss.
Also we haven't commented on the real hero of the game. SHOUT OUT THAT MOM FOR GETTING HER DAUGHTER SOME CHOCOLATES. And that old man dude, he's giving us lore, I love him, and I bet he's the sweetest, he's just a wrinkly cutie patootie. MC, Lane, how dare y'all think he's weird.
And finally, i just find it so funny how after you click on the logo in the bathroom, the dog opens his eyes. Lil bro is so funny.

One thing I connected seeing the gameplays is that in the beginning of shift 2 when we are with Amelia, we can choose about three types of drink (blueberry milkshake, hot chocolate and whiskey) and if we ask to Biker Boy about his face after he says exactly about our choice !! Like he was seeing us in that exactly day!! The day that MC talks a lot - one moth ago when everything was still perfect, with colors !!!
So, I was thinking since he started stalking us... I don't think it was that day cuz he seems already obsessing like paying attention to what we like, but maybe was the day he finally has the courage to talk to us somehow !!

In one of the routes where we walk with BB, he shares that he never spoke to anyone (if i remember correctly) he confessed that he never had talked to anyone like that yet how come in tumblr spar0w shares that he actually is quite experienced when it comes to relationships even if he's not in love or whatsoever.
Next is the second lie where MC tells BB to go slow on the road because its the first time she ever rides on a bike and he proceeds to tell her to not worry cuz he never crashed (lie) as she was about to put on the red helmet she notices that its a bit broken blablablabla but this time she caught him lying lol and she was like "didn't you tell me that you crashed once ?" and he was like "......."

As most of yall agree, This Dark VN is SO GOOD. Like the story has SO MUCH LORE, and the Characters are so much more deeper than I expected. Lane is actually somewhat tolerable?? (still gets me angry but DAMN he is hilarious sometimes, these jokes will be the end of me XD)
I'm definitely more of a BB person still, so I obvi did his romance path first. I felt too bad to pick some of the other choices, so I watched Hello Yinny do a good chunk of them instead 🫠 and WOAh some of these paths are so sad (they are great in their own way though, LOVE THE VARIETYY). BB actually snapping genuinely caught me off guard, like my stomach DROPPED, I was so scared for MC and Lane D': .
Overall, TYSM for making such a detailed game, I loved playing every minute of it :) It even gave me the motivation to draw lol (first time I drew more of a muscular body).
I also just have to mention how PRETTY YOUR ARTSTYLE IS?! DO you have any inspirations, I would love to check them out?!

okay, i came back to share my full thoughts because my last comment was made when i finished playing through the routes at like 4am... but prepare for the LANE yappathon because i have sooo much to say. spoilers as well. i thiiink.
lane is one of those characters that seriously annoy the shit out of you then gives you whiplash when they come through when you like really need it. i honestly dont know if i'd touch a man like lane irl with a 20ft pole, but i do appreciate his depth in this game. its an unfortunate reality that some men irl do genuinely believe that sexist jokes are funny, but lane makes it a biiiit more bearable in the fictional world by being hot and having such sweet moments that had me pulling back from computer and pinching myself to make sure i was reading his dialogue correctly.
as we got to learn more about lane, it really helped me understand him a bit more. he strikes me as the type that has been so deeply hurt that he wears this jester mask- constantly telling jokes to cope and hide his fear of being vulnerable. i have like.. mixed feelings about being able to blame him and call him names when he finally opens up and shares something vulnerable. especially since we as the player, shared our worst fear and lane wasn't one to tear us down about it. it just goes to show that even his jokes have boundaries which i can appreciate. even when he does go over the line i like how he seemingly reflects on it if we do express discomfort.
lane can be an asshole, but he's not a genuinely malicious one. which again, i can appreciate a lot. and i think that's what keeps me drawn to him and still floating over to his route without even thinking or realizing. but back my mini lane psychoanalysis. with people who constantly hide their true feelings and fear of being vulnerable behind jokes, i believe its important to take them seriously when they do open up and share something vulnerable. you gotta realise,, they wear this mask probably because they've had poor experiences with opening up in the past and the last thing you (i) want is to be the person that gives them a valid reason to keep wearing that mask. you can think of it like a hermit crab that peeks out of its shell during rare moments. but if you shame it or put it down, it'll just retreat back into its shell thinking "see? this is why i stay inside"
however a part of me does understand why we have the option to laugh lane off or put him down in a way. its because that's usually the reality of people who adopt a "clown" persona. people don't know when to take them seriously and it becomes a "the boy who cried wolf" situation. so i get it.
besides that.. lane is the type of mf to act nonchalant and go "yeah im nonchalant guys" even though he's so obviously seething over it. im sure (?) the biker boy gets jealous but i thiink he keeps it under wraps. when lane is jealous, this guy is a fucking landmine. someone HELP HIM. HELLLPPPP. (/ref) he will sit in your face and swear up and down that hes not jealous then have a yap off with a guy who is like semimute. he looked like the guy talking to a brick wall gif too. and that scene felt like watching a couple argue loudly in a fancy restaurant as like the waiter who just wants to know what their food order will be so they can escape back to the kitchen or literally ANYWHERE else. like lane.. bbygirl.. hes just standing there. what do you want from him?? crying emoji.
i voice the vns i play and the whole time i had to pause and just scream "why are the girls fightinggg!!!???" i was like.. lane i love u pooks, but you are about to end up on the 7am news "body found behind mad dog convenience store mangled and unrecognizable" like PLEASEEEE i cant save you once you are in the grave!!! save yourself !!!!!! then another apart of me was rating the roasts between the two. when we have the option to say we giggled at his insult towards biker boy, admittedly... i do be giggling. lane says the most ridiculous shit sometimes that i cant help BUT laugh and also im just a trashy girlthing that definitely laughs at the stupidest jokes. i dont even want to get into how i laughed for a solid 3 mins over lane putting B00BS and B00BIES in his calculator. im literally just a girl </3

and i definitely clicked on him during free roam so many times until i exhausted any other unique dialogue options.
i could say so much more about this man in the intimate sense, but i shall keep the rest to myself. anywaysss tdlr is.. i love lane even though he makes me wanna rip out my hair and gouge out my eyes sometimes... to the point where some of his sexist comments made me need to stand up and walk a lap in my room to calm down. oh and bottom lane supremacy because im shameless.

Now by the end of my original run I got a neutral end to shift 2 but I went back just to see what else could have happened had I steered a tad more into Lane's path, and (SPOILER) his sister just outs him for having to used to cry in his car, there was something something about his name??.. I gotta lot of questions after that, pretty curious about our (I'm assuming) fallout with Amelia, too.
Moving on, Lane tries too hard not to care which is contradictory, and he does admit that he thinks about doing something else sometimes which made me wonder "what WOULD he be doing if he actually tried at something?" What does he want to do? What can he do?? (not in a "he's useless" kinda way but "what is he good at" sorta thing)
TO ADD- YES. BOTTOM LANE! It was a rollercoAster with him- with his sexist jokes and assholery! BUT HOT DOG!! Whenever he'd joked about bottoming and being the woman in the relationship, it got me "heheheheheheheheh"-ing like an idiot. The way I frowned so hard that it could distort my face when he called me a "good girl" but then it immediately choked me up when I got to call him a "good girl" and Lane totally buying into that.. LIKE! Put me in a room with this man and he's either coming out battered or pregnant. Lane may be a dick but he's even more of a loser and that's just my weak spot.
oh my daysss same. i got the neutral route first then i found there was a lane route and immediately ran for the hills to start over! and needless to say, i fell even harder for him. very proud of myself for doing his route because you learn so much more about him and some of the things hes been through which very much shaped him into the lane we see now.
im very intrigued to learn more about some of the things he faced growing up because he only touches on a few things briefly while alluding to other things such as possible physical abuse(?) and toxic parents.
and yes! speaking about that particular line. it really struck me because it comes off as an indication for depressive behaviours/symptoms. as in, what if this job and what he does (or lack thereof most of the time) is all he believes he can do? its very easy for people who are depressed to get into a stalemate. how he is psychological interests me a lot esp as someone who is studying psych. and it makes me wonder about his interests. as in, what does he enjoy? what did he ever dream about doing? because im sure it wasnt working at a grocery store like this.

I am just as curious as to what other things got Lane to turn into a misogynistic prick, also- I find the sibling dynamic with Amelia pretty ironic seeing as she comes off as a man-hating feminist then her brother acts like the kind of men she'd want to see with their dicks cut off. I really want to find out more on Lane and interact with his sister, because as Shift 2 paints it, Lane is really just this dude that's a walking whisper for help and I'm not an "I can fix him" girlie, because I believe that you can only really get better by yourself but help is a huge motivator in that.
You mention studying psychology? How delightful! I, on the other hand, study Arts in English! I have to say that how Lane was written so humanly was another reason that got me more invested in him rather than Biker Boy (I'm freaked out by yanderes TvT). It just appeals to me that Lane has an entirely plausible character in real life, like there could be someone that thinks and acts like he does, ah except I can't say that I would actually spend a minute of my day if I happened upon someone like that. WHICH REMINDS ME- Lane doesn't like being ignored, huh? And you called on the possibility of toxic parents, it makes me wonder too- if that dislike of his is something from the siblings having faced parental neglect or if Lane was ghosted by a girl or something.

honestly... im superrr into yanderes. i tend to indulge in vns with such aspects actually! there's a lot of aspects i enjoy about it, but i really love how protective they can get! not a fan of yanderes that'd kill my bff or such a thing JUST because we're close. but im very much into the type of yanderes that'd kill to keep me safe cus the world is cruel. BB caught my eye first and got me into installing the game. im a sucker for quiet, shy guys that'd seem like they would— in lane's words— "cum their pants while talking to a girl". BB also does SPOILER KINDA?? kill the guy that got violent with me when telling him "no, you cant have my number" so hes right up my alley.
buuuut then.. lane came onto the screen and started talking. at first i ew-ed because lane is the type of guy i hate (or so i thought), then i got to smiling and rolling my eyes at him and also myself whenever he'd say something cute or sweet. and i do genuinely find him funny, so i'd catch myself laughing at his jokes no matter how outrageous or childish. except the sexist ones.. def not laughing at those.
lane's complexities just draw me innn admittedly. and unfortunately for biker boy, i do find myself enjoying more of my time spent with lane (sorry BB.. forgive me) lane was indeed ghosted by a girl!! im not sure if you were asking if that happened to him or if it could be a link to why he doesnt like being ignored. but he was ghosted by a girl he loved. to me, it explains why he doesnt really like being super vulnerable or why he has that specific outlook on love in general. his parents def played a role somehow into the lane we see today. a tumblr ask on spar0w's acc alludes to such and we will learn more in the shift 3 update which im super excited for. queue a will to live till 2026!!

Ah, indeed! I agree that there is great appeal in their protectiveness! I guess I only like the yanderes that kill for the love interest and not just out of jealousy, but the yanderes that stalk and manipulate are just a no for me ToT... I've played visual novels with that and while I get that that kinda is sort of the qualities and point with it, it always stuns me.. like stalking and killing I can still look pass, but lying to me??? COME ON! Be honest about your freak mah boy... Oh I'd also like to mention that there's the Dobler-Dahmer Theory (from sitcom show HIMYM heh) which indicates that an act is only endearing when there's mutual attraction. So YEAH- if I was into the guy, it's cute, but if I wasn't into him, he's a creep.
I appreciate Biker Boy for avenging me, the number guy deserved it. My typical taste in men plays into the tragically funny losers or failing manwhores, both love interests actually kinda fall under that LOL. now I had my eyes on Lane when I first saw the game but then read how much of an ass he was and then Biker Boy was all cute and caring and I thought "oh this is the lesser evil" and figured I'd steer into Biker Boy's route BUT THEN SHIFT 2 CAME AND HELL YEAHH THERE'S MORE TO LANE THAN HIS SOMETIMES FUNNY SOMETIMES OFFENSIVE JOKES! I've been replaying the shifts like a mf and there's a couple things I noticed. Mostly about Lane bc I'm so hyperfixated on him and I NEED FANFICS OF HIM PLS GOD I AM SO DESPERATE FOR MORE LANE CONTENT. First thing I've noticed is this mark on him. In another scene we see BB's hands, and it looks similar to the mark on Lane. Assuming the marks on BB is scars then is the mark on Lane a scar as well? Also, I've noticed Lane fidgets with his nose ring at certain parts, is this a nervous habit he does? Also, he said Scorpios are terrifying and y'all aren't gonna believe what I am :( does this mean i've lost my chance? Is it GGs for me already?? Also, the scolding scene made me imagine Lane doing this meme

First of all, I really appreciate how well the game captures the theme of being a woman in the 2000s. It’s such a terrifying time period in its own way, and the way it was portrayed felt incredibly real. The atmosphere, the tension, and the mystery were so well done, it had me completely on edge in the best way!
The horror romance blend is perfect. I came in for biker boy, but wow… Lane completely stole the spotlight! The art, the interface, the writing everything was just so good. Also the “two love interests fighting for MC” dynamic, gave me Wattpad vibes but in the best way possible, lol.
The game had me feeling everything, and I really appreciate how it didn’t hold back on the dark themes. It’s emotional, immersive, and honestly one of the best I’ve played. I’ll definitely be (impatiently) waiting for the next update!

Now… about the horror side of things, you really played into that tag when it came to MC. From the creepy man showing up again, to Lane’s laid-back attitude toward actual potential danger, to Biker yelling at MC in some routes… it had me genuinely scared. I was fearing for MC’s life most of the time, it felt so real and heavy in a way I rarely see in games.
Also, the best friend… she’s gorgeous!!, but it was a little sad seeing her act kinda mean, hoping there’s a good reason and I’m so ready to find out more in future episodes.

okay so this might be a bit long winded but i just need the dev to know that the game so far is literally perfection? the darker themes are presented in a compelling and respectful way with refreshing comedic moments brilliantly breaking up the haunting atmosphere. the character design and execution is wonderful, each one we meet is perfectly fleshed out and compelling not to mention beautiful. the attention to detail and all the little secrets are driving me insane i'm frothing at the mouth waiting for the next update.
overall this is definitely one of the best visual novels i've come across, thank you so much for all your hard work i cant wait to devour more content <3

Shift 2 is absolutely perfect! I did Biker Boy at first and enjoyed his route until I tried Lane's out of curiosity... Quickest 180 in my perspective of him and BB. All that bantering and bickering - now Lane has my heart even though he has some controversial thoughts.
But overall, I love how all characters are written so well, and the world along with MC's past are super intriguing. Can't wait to see more of this!

in shift 1: choose "say nothing" to the first choice with the weirdo, then "give him a fake number" (Lane has to "rescue" you) and do NOT choose to watch TV
then in shift 2: have the date with Lane and flirt a lot with him to unlock his route (but don't accept the dare), and in the "beef" scene side with Lane with every option (BB should punches Lane in that path)
and then continue the dialogue and instead of taking the bus, MC will choose to walk since shes less likely to overthink what "might happen" (cuz no tv and MC didnt search to know more about the disappearances)
(!SPOILER-ish?!) ok first of all THIS GAME HAS IT ALL - it was such a blast to play, genuinely. loved the ambiance, the spooky graphics, the dialogs, the characters, the art, BB especially (even though he is a freaking stalker and serial killer, i will gladly walk into the mouth of the wolf i fear-) discovered the game through Yinny and i am so glad i gave it a try! i was such a Lane hater while going for BB's heart PAHAHA i hope doing his route is gonna reconcile us but i despise how he talked to MC (like fuck off man have some respect ugh) can't wait to see more of it, i already have some theories and i am SO intrigued <33

Shift 2 is SOOOOOO good, i'm genuinely feeling the chemistry with Lane and I know for a fact that mf would LOVE 3OH!3. His favorite songs by them would definitely be STARSTRUKK and RIP (I know it's a 2010 song, but I feel it in my bones that he'd like it. I know that mf is soft and sad on the inside I KNOW IT). UGHHHH I'M SUPPOSED TO BE ASLEEP FOR WORK, BUT I'M HYPERFIXATED LIKE A MFFF. First off, Amelia and Lane are DEFINITELY siblings. They both have something against the opposite gender, they both definitely have affections towards the player, the ice blue eyes and the black hair (I SAW THOSE BLACK ROOTS AMELIA) and Idk how to describe it perfectly but I feel like they have a similar personality they just express their selves differently?? If that makes sense. Maybe i'm delulu, but I like how at some points even though Lane says some gross and obnoxious things, you can tell he says it to avoid seeming too soft and I LOVE that the player for the most part sees right through it. Also very much appreciate that the player isn't some ditz nor a crybaby, love that we stand our ground. Ughugfugu that's it I'm playing again

I don't usually comment on visual novels, but it's one of the best I've seen. It's very good both in terms of storyline and visual graphics, the sounds are also good and the gameplay is also very fun inside the house and in the store. All the characters are really interesting and multifaceted, everyone is different than they seem on the surface. Lane, while he still is an asshole, seems like he could be fun to be around if he just got over his hangups. Amelia seems like a bubbly and fun friend, but she may be dealing with some dark stuff behind the scenes. I also think she has a past with Lane and may be his first love he talked about? Last but definitely not least, Biker Boy is a shy cutie, but definitely a lot more unhinged than he comes across.
AAAAAA SO HAPPY U FIND THE CHAR INTERESTING SWEETIE <3<3 i was actually a bit worried at first about creating characters who might just feel "useless" or secondary like they were just there to prop up BB. but its been amazing to see how much people appreciate Lane even tho hes just this normal sexist guy xD it really makes me happy to know i managed to add depth to all my characterss!! ofc shift 3 is going to dive even deeper into their stories :3<3<3
Wow, I just finished the second shift and OMG. It was insane, I played it straight through without a break because I was so hooked. Your writing is amazing and super immersive. Thanks for giving us this update, you should rest up and have fun, you totally deserve it, you did a great job and I really appreciate it. I AM IN LOVE WITH THE BIKER!!!!!!!, every time he spoke I was screaming. Lane is okay, I like his personality but I see him more as a friend, but that's cool. I'm loyal to the biker, HAHAHAHA. The game is amazing the horror aspect is handled so well Its awesome, to be honest I was fearing for my life hoping I don’t die in some scenes. And don’t get me on the two love interest AHHHH Lane and biker boy my opinion about those two is love and hate relationship with Lane. He can be so goddamn annoying and straight up rude asf but sometimes he is such a cutie and a dirty talker like chill😭. Some of his comments are interesting to say the list but realistic I mean the timeline is set at that times where men were more openly misogynistic 😞. Which sucks ass that he is like that but it makes sense🤓
NOW MY FAVOURITE PART THE BIKERR BOYYY don’t get me started of how much I love him. HE IS SUCH A CUTIE I love when he blushes, is speechless or just confused. Seriously I never tried to get all the options and every easter egg, but I would do it once again because Its that good. J'ai fini! I am almost 100% sure that I've found every word, every interaction, every Easter egg in this game just from the sheer amount of will I've put in to analyzing everything. I even somehow found out that the 50% off sign says Cinquante when you click on it. After doing everything I could to find that gosh darn code (which I am also almost 100% sure I found even if it didn't work much to my chagrin and my high blood pressure) I am finally, FINALLY commenting on how absolutely FIRE this game is.
There are no words to properly explain how incredible this game was, from all sides of it. The romance, the horror, and just societal commentary, it's all so well done, I wish I could give this game 10 stars. Just wanna give my two cents about everything here (it's straight yap) :)
First of all, they're going to need the power of whatever has a lot of grip strength to drag me away from LANE. OMG MY POOKIE BEAR HE DESERVES THE WORLD (I'm his world (delusion is awesome)). He just seems like an awesome onion to unlayer. And sure, while doing so I might cry, but it will be so worth it!! Since he actually talks, it's a lot easier to get information out of him, and whoo, it is SOMETHING. I gotta get this off my chest, Lane would either be a podcast guy or a performative male in modern times and I have no idea which one would be worse. In all seriousness though, I agree with all the other lovely commenters in that this sexist, joking thing he's got going on is just a facade that hides something much deeper. I feel like he's been put down so much in his life that he refuses to let anyone in anymore. I also wonder if it has anything to do with his idea of what a man should be. (And I know there are times when he acts like a bottom which is SO hot but I also feel like that comes from some imbued satyriasis just so he can feel more in control? I can't think of a better word for it rn) But that again comes from when he mentions the Victoria Secret shows it just feels like his childhood led up to this which explains Amelia's behavior as well. Someone else said this, but I totally agree with the fact that him and Amelia are two sides of the same coin, each forced towards an extreme prejudice towards the other gender. Like the old man was saying about the dogs, he's just a big softie on the inside. I want him soooo bad. (chat the moment they approve my AO3 account, y'all are boutta see CRAZY fics bout this man he is so fine)
On to BB! (who would be so mad that he is second to Lane). His interactions are just the most interesting thing ever, both with Lane and MC! It's kinda funny imagining this giant acting like a lil guy, all demure and shy, but then I remember when he gets all scary, and I'm like, woah. This guy could kill me. I do like this kinda yandere who imo wouldn't kill and maybe not hurt MC, but they'd do more psychological damage instead. Like when MC tells him that she's going to get the keys from Lane's apartment, he makes no moves to hurting her or even says anything or threatens her, only Lane. He's still scary though, trying to just intimidate her out of going instead, and when he realizes it's not working, he stops and reverts back to what he was before. And i'm not saying that that's a fake personality or something to win MC over, I believe he's genuine in how he acts, but he's temperamental, and maybe that's worse. In terms of his relationship to MC, a lot of it seems really vague. There are some assumptions I can make. Another commenter said this about MC also being a biker, and going along with that, I feel like the two of them rode together. Maybe not MC on a bike, but they had something together before. That's why he had the helmet ready and red. Even the lines on BB's bike seemed to bring something out of MC. Also also alsoooo if anyone saw my comments about the code and what spar0w said about the hidden background, you'll understand BUT YOU CAN CONNECT THE HELMET TO THAT. WAIT OMG IT JUST CLICKED IN MY HEAD AS I WAS TYPING IT. THEY TOTALLY KNEW EACH OTHER. But that's just my theory. Anyways, he's still just a bbg, I want to squish my face into those pecs. and he needs to leave MC alone about her bills, it's hard :(
I don't have much to say about Amelia that I already haven't said before other than that she totally slays if it weren't for the fact that maybe she's just too much like her brother. I can't handle double the snark from such a girlboss.
Also we haven't commented on the real hero of the game. SHOUT OUT THAT MOM FOR GETTING HER DAUGHTER SOME CHOCOLATES. And that old man dude, he's giving us lore, I love him, and I bet he's the sweetest, he's just a wrinkly cutie patootie. MC, Lane, how dare y'all think he's weird.
And finally, i just find it so funny how after you click on the logo in the bathroom, the dog opens his eyes. Lil bro is so funny.

One thing I connected seeing the gameplays is that in the beginning of shift 2 when we are with Amelia, we can choose about three types of drink (blueberry milkshake, hot chocolate and whiskey) and if we ask to Biker Boy about his face after he says exactly about our choice !! Like he was seeing us in that exactly day!! The day that MC talks a lot - one moth ago when everything was still perfect, with colors !!!
So, I was thinking since he started stalking us... I don't think it was that day cuz he seems already obsessing like paying attention to what we like, but maybe was the day he finally has the courage to talk to us somehow !!

In one of the routes where we walk with BB, he shares that he never spoke to anyone (if i remember correctly) he confessed that he never had talked to anyone like that yet how come in tumblr spar0w shares that he actually is quite experienced when it comes to relationships even if he's not in love or whatsoever.
Next is the second lie where MC tells BB to go slow on the road because its the first time she ever rides on a bike and he proceeds to tell her to not worry cuz he never crashed (lie) as she was about to put on the red helmet she notices that its a bit broken blablablabla but this time she caught him lying lol and she was like "didn't you tell me that you crashed once ?" and he was like "......."

As most of yall agree, This Dark VN is SO GOOD. Like the story has SO MUCH LORE, and the Characters are so much more deeper than I expected. Lane is actually somewhat tolerable?? (still gets me angry but DAMN he is hilarious sometimes, these jokes will be the end of me XD)
I'm definitely more of a BB person still, so I obvi did his romance path first. I felt too bad to pick some of the other choices, so I watched Hello Yinny do a good chunk of them instead 🫠 and WOAh some of these paths are so sad (they are great in their own way though, LOVE THE VARIETYY). BB actually snapping genuinely caught me off guard, like my stomach DROPPED, I was so scared for MC and Lane D': .
Overall, TYSM for making such a detailed game, I loved playing every minute of it :) It even gave me the motivation to draw lol (first time I drew more of a muscular body).
I also just have to mention how PRETTY YOUR ARTSTYLE IS?! DO you have any inspirations, I would love to check them out?!

okay, i came back to share my full thoughts because my last comment was made when i finished playing through the routes at like 4am... but prepare for the LANE yappathon because i have sooo much to say. spoilers as well. i thiiink.
lane is one of those characters that seriously annoy the shit out of you then gives you whiplash when they come through when you like really need it. i honestly dont know if i'd touch a man like lane irl with a 20ft pole, but i do appreciate his depth in this game. its an unfortunate reality that some men irl do genuinely believe that sexist jokes are funny, but lane makes it a biiiit more bearable in the fictional world by being hot and having such sweet moments that had me pulling back from computer and pinching myself to make sure i was reading his dialogue correctly.
as we got to learn more about lane, it really helped me understand him a bit more. he strikes me as the type that has been so deeply hurt that he wears this jester mask- constantly telling jokes to cope and hide his fear of being vulnerable. i have like.. mixed feelings about being able to blame him and call him names when he finally opens up and shares something vulnerable. especially since we as the player, shared our worst fear and lane wasn't one to tear us down about it. it just goes to show that even his jokes have boundaries which i can appreciate. even when he does go over the line i like how he seemingly reflects on it if we do express discomfort.
lane can be an asshole, but he's not a genuinely malicious one. which again, i can appreciate a lot. and i think that's what keeps me drawn to him and still floating over to his route without even thinking or realizing. but back my mini lane psychoanalysis. with people who constantly hide their true feelings and fear of being vulnerable behind jokes, i believe its important to take them seriously when they do open up and share something vulnerable. you gotta realise,, they wear this mask probably because they've had poor experiences with opening up in the past and the last thing you (i) want is to be the person that gives them a valid reason to keep wearing that mask. you can think of it like a hermit crab that peeks out of its shell during rare moments. but if you shame it or put it down, it'll just retreat back into its shell thinking "see? this is why i stay inside"
however a part of me does understand why we have the option to laugh lane off or put him down in a way. its because that's usually the reality of people who adopt a "clown" persona. people don't know when to take them seriously and it becomes a "the boy who cried wolf" situation. so i get it.
besides that.. lane is the type of mf to act nonchalant and go "yeah im nonchalant guys" even though he's so obviously seething over it. im sure (?) the biker boy gets jealous but i thiink he keeps it under wraps. when lane is jealous, this guy is a fucking landmine. someone HELP HIM. HELLLPPPP. (/ref) he will sit in your face and swear up and down that hes not jealous then have a yap off with a guy who is like semimute. he looked like the guy talking to a brick wall gif too. and that scene felt like watching a couple argue loudly in a fancy restaurant as like the waiter who just wants to know what their food order will be so they can escape back to the kitchen or literally ANYWHERE else. like lane.. bbygirl.. hes just standing there. what do you want from him?? crying emoji.
i voice the vns i play and the whole time i had to pause and just scream "why are the girls fightinggg!!!???" i was like.. lane i love u pooks, but you are about to end up on the 7am news "body found behind mad dog convenience store mangled and unrecognizable" like PLEASEEEE i cant save you once you are in the grave!!! save yourself !!!!!! then another apart of me was rating the roasts between the two. when we have the option to say we giggled at his insult towards biker boy, admittedly... i do be giggling. lane says the most ridiculous shit sometimes that i cant help BUT laugh and also im just a trashy girlthing that definitely laughs at the stupidest jokes. i dont even want to get into how i laughed for a solid 3 mins over lane putting B00BS and B00BIES in his calculator. im literally just a girl </3

and i definitely clicked on him during free roam so many times until i exhausted any other unique dialogue options.

Now by the end of my original run I got a neutral end to shift 2 but I went back just to see what else could have happened had I steered a tad more into Lane's path, and (SPOILER) his sister just outs him for having to used to cry in his car, there was something something about his name??.. I gotta lot of questions after that, pretty curious about our (I'm assuming) fallout with Amelia, too.
Moving on, Lane tries too hard not to care which is contradictory, and he does admit that he thinks about doing something else sometimes which made me wonder "what WOULD he be doing if he actually tried at something?" What does he want to do? What can he do?? (not in a "he's useless" kinda way but "what is he good at" sorta thing)
TO ADD- YES. BOTTOM LANE! It was a rollercoAster with him- with his sexist jokes and assholery! BUT HOT DOG!! Whenever he'd joked about bottoming and being the woman in the relationship, it got me "heheheheheheheheh"-ing like an idiot. The way I frowned so hard that it could distort my face when he called me a "good girl" but then it immediately choked me up when I got to call him a "good girl" and Lane totally buying into that.. LIKE! Put me in a room with this man and he's either coming out battered or pregnant. Lane may be a dick but he's even more of a loser and that's just my weak spot.
oh my daysss same. i got the neutral route first then i found there was a lane route and immediately ran for the hills to start over! and needless to say, i fell even harder for him. very proud of myself for doing his route because you learn so much more about him and some of the things hes been through which very much shaped him into the lane we see now.
im very intrigued to learn more about some of the things he faced growing up because he only touches on a few things briefly while alluding to other things such as possible physical abuse(?) and toxic parents.
and yes! speaking about that particular line. it really struck me because it comes off as an indication for depressive behaviours/symptoms. as in, what if this job and what he does (or lack thereof most of the time) is all he believes he can do? its very easy for people who are depressed to get into a stalemate. how he is psychological interests me a lot esp as someone who is studying psych. and it makes me wonder about his interests. as in, what does he enjoy? what did he ever dream about doing? because im sure it wasnt working at a grocery store like this.

I am just as curious as to what other things got Lane to turn into a misogynistic prick, also- I find the sibling dynamic with Amelia pretty ironic seeing as she comes off as a man-hating feminist then her brother acts like the kind of men she'd want to see with their dicks cut off. I really want to find out more on Lane and interact with his sister, because as Shift 2 paints it, Lane is really just this dude that's a walking whisper for help and I'm not an "I can fix him" girlie, because I believe that you can only really get better by yourself but help is a huge motivator in that.
You mention studying psychology? How delightful! I, on the other hand, study Arts in English! I have to say that how Lane was written so humanly was another reason that got me more invested in him rather than Biker Boy (I'm freaked out by yanderes TvT). It just appeals to me that Lane has an entirely plausible character in real life, like there could be someone that thinks and acts like he does, ah except I can't say that I would actually spend a minute of my day if I happened upon someone like that. WHICH REMINDS ME- Lane doesn't like being ignored, huh? And you called on the possibility of toxic parents, it makes me wonder too- if that dislike of his is something from the siblings having faced parental neglect or if Lane was ghosted by a girl or something.

honestly... im superrr into yanderes. i tend to indulge in vns with such aspects actually! there's a lot of aspects i enjoy about it, but i really love how protective they can get! not a fan of yanderes that'd kill my bff or such a thing JUST because we're close. but im very much into the type of yanderes that'd kill to keep me safe cus the world is cruel. BB caught my eye first and got me into installing the game. im a sucker for quiet, shy guys that'd seem like they would— in lane's words— "cum their pants while talking to a girl". BB also does SPOILER KINDA?? kill the guy that got violent with me when telling him "no, you cant have my number" so hes right up my alley.
buuuut then.. lane came onto the screen and started talking. at first i ew-ed because lane is the type of guy i hate (or so i thought), then i got to smiling and rolling my eyes at him and also myself whenever he'd say something cute or sweet. and i do genuinely find him funny, so i'd catch myself laughing at his jokes no matter how outrageous or childish. except the sexist ones.. def not laughing at those.
lane's complexities just draw me innn admittedly. and unfortunately for biker boy, i do find myself enjoying more of my time spent with lane (sorry BB.. forgive me) lane was indeed ghosted by a girl!! im not sure if you were asking if that happened to him or if it could be a link to why he doesnt like being ignored. but he was ghosted by a girl he loved. to me, it explains why he doesnt really like being super vulnerable or why he has that specific outlook on love in general. his parents def played a role somehow into the lane we see today. a tumblr ask on spar0w's acc alludes to such and we will learn more in the shift 3 update which im super excited for. queue a will to live till 2026!!

Ah, indeed! I agree that there is great appeal in their protectiveness! I guess I only like the yanderes that kill for the love interest and not just out of jealousy, but the yanderes that stalk and manipulate are just a no for me ToT... I've played visual novels with that and while I get that that kinda is sort of the qualities and point with it, it always stuns me.. like stalking and killing I can still look pass, but lying to me??? COME ON! Be honest about your freak mah boy... Oh I'd also like to mention that there's the Dobler-Dahmer Theory (from sitcom show HIMYM heh) which indicates that an act is only endearing when there's mutual attraction. So YEAH- if I was into the guy, it's cute, but if I wasn't into him, he's a creep.
I appreciate Biker Boy for avenging me, the number guy deserved it. My typical taste in men plays into the tragically funny losers or failing manwhores, both love interests actually kinda fall under that LOL. now I had my eyes on Lane when I first saw the game but then read how much of an ass he was and then Biker Boy was all cute and caring and I thought "oh this is the lesser evil" and figured I'd steer into Biker Boy's route BUT THEN SHIFT 2 CAME AND HELL YEAHH THERE'S MORE TO LANE THAN HIS SOMETIMES FUNNY SOMETIMES OFFENSIVE JOKES! I've been replaying the shifts like a mf and there's a couple things I noticed. Mostly about Lane bc I'm so hyperfixated on him and I NEED FANFICS OF HIM PLS GOD I AM SO DESPERATE FOR MORE LANE CONTENT. First thing I've noticed is this mark on him. In another scene we see BB's hands, and it looks similar to the mark on Lane. Assuming the marks on BB is scars then is the mark on Lane a scar as well? Also, I've noticed Lane fidgets with his nose ring at certain parts, is this a nervous habit he does? Also, he said Scorpios are terrifying and y'all aren't gonna believe what I am :( does this mean i've lost my chance? Is it GGs for me already?? Also, the scolding scene made me imagine Lane doing this meme

I love Lane’s humor,got me laughing every time but i also kinda dislike the way he acts sometimes:/ but its okay i still like his character tho and i love the biker boy too!:) i’ll draw mc so wait for meee. First of all, I really appreciate how well the game captures the theme of being a woman in the 2000s. It’s such a terrifying time period in its own way, and the way it was portrayed felt incredibly real. The atmosphere, the tension, and the mystery were so well done, it had me completely on edge in the best way!
The horror romance blend is perfect. I came in for biker boy, but wow… Lane completely stole the spotlight! The art, the interface, the writing everything was just so good. Also the “two love interests fighting for MC” dynamic, gave me Wattpad vibes but in the best way possible, lol.
The game had me feeling everything, and I really appreciate how it didn’t hold back on the dark themes. It’s emotional, immersive, and honestly one of the best I’ve played. I’ll definitely be (impatiently) waiting for the next update!
Potential Spoilers Below??
Now… about the horror side of things, you really played into that tag when it came to MC. From the creepy man showing up again, to Lane’s laid-back attitude toward actual potential danger, to Biker yelling at MC in some routes… it had me genuinely scared. I was fearing for MC’s life most of the time, it felt so real and heavy in a way I rarely see in games.
Also, the best friend… she’s gorgeous!!, but it was a little sad seeing her act kinda mean, hoping there’s a good reason and I’m so ready to find out more in future episodes.

okay so this might be a bit long winded but i just need the dev to know that the game so far is literally perfection? the darker themes are presented in a compelling and respectful way with refreshing comedic moments brilliantly breaking up the haunting atmosphere. the character design and execution is wonderful, each one we meet is perfectly fleshed out and compelling not to mention beautiful. the attention to detail and all the little secrets are driving me insane i'm frothing at the mouth waiting for the next update.
overall this is definitely one of the best visual novels i've come across, thank you so much for all your hard work i cant wait to devour more content <3

Shift 2 is absolutely perfect! I did Biker Boy at first and enjoyed his route until I tried Lane's out of curiosity... Quickest 180 in my perspective of him and BB. All that bantering and bickering - now Lane has my heart even though he has some controversial thoughts.
But overall, I love how all characters are written so well, and the world along with MC's past are super intriguing. Can't wait to see more of this!

in shift 1: choose "say nothing" to the first choice with the weirdo, then "give him a fake number" (Lane has to "rescue" you) and do NOT choose to watch TV
then in shift 2: have the date with Lane and flirt a lot with him to unlock his route (but don't accept the dare), and in the "beef" scene side with Lane with every option (BB should punches Lane in that path)
and then continue the dialogue and instead of taking the bus, MC will choose to walk since shes less likely to overthink what "might happen" (cuz no tv and MC didnt search to know more about the disappearances)

ok first of all THIS GAME HAS IT ALL - it was such a blast to play, genuinely. loved the ambiance, the spooky graphics, the dialogs, the characters, the art, BB especially
(even though he is a freaking stalker and serial killer, i will gladly walk into the mouth of the wolf i fear-)discovered the game through Yinny and i am so glad i gave it a try! i was such a Lane hater while going for BB's heart PAHAHA i hope doing his route is gonna reconcile us but i despise how he talked to MC (like fuck off man have some respect ugh)

They both have something against the opposite gender, they both definitely have affections towards the player, the ice blue eyes and the black hair (I SAW THOSE BLACK ROOTS AMELIA) and Idk how to describe it perfectly but I feel like they have a similar personality they just express their selves differently?? If that makes sense. Maybe i'm delulu, but I like how at some points even though Lane says some gross and obnoxious things, you can tell he says it to avoid seeming too soft and I LOVE that the player for the most part sees right through it. Also very much appreciate that the player isn't some ditz nor a crybaby, love that we stand our ground. Ughugfugu that's it I'm playing again
