I LOVE how each character is vastly different. Other romance VN lack variety and Ctrl-C each love interest with a few different characteristics, but the same personality. I enjoyed the twists that made each character unique and sorta a red flag in their own ways. BB isn't perfect; the dude dropped out of school and can't write. It balanced him out, so not the #1 choice every time someone plays the game. It also takes some time to see the significant red flags in Lane, making him a more charismatic character in the beginning.
What I thoroughly enjoyed was a more realistic display of everyday life. I'm tired of seeing main characters always being well-off and never struggling with mental health, time, or money. Not to mention the lack of ACTUAL comedy. This novel was funny as hell and wasn't forceful with the humor. Also, it's refreshing to see an MC that thinks like a normal human and isn't immediately playing alongside the plot. Thank you... Keep up your amazing work.
i just finished playing this game on itch and oh my gosh i am completely obsessed. i spent hours trying to get every single ending and reading every little line from every character. it was such a fun experience and i loved every moment. even the little details like cleaning up or getting ready for work were so funnn
the art style really stood out to me. i loved the black and white theme so much and when things got intense those flashes of red were so cool and dramatic. it made everything feel so much more alive and exciting.
the characters though… wow. the two male leads are so different and i love them both for completely different reasons. biker boy has my whole heart. even though it’s clear he has a dark past and some scary moments he is such a gentleman with the main character. he really treats her like a person and even when he got tense in one route he apologized right after which melted me. he’s gentle but you can tell he’s dangerous in that protective way and i adore that energy.
then there’s lane. he is such a walking red flag but in a fascinating way. he’s sexist and flirty and sometimes says the worst things but you can tell there’s something more to him. little moments like when he stopped the mc from drinking too much made me feel like he really does care but just hides it behind a front. i honestly think he’s redeemable and i love how complicated he is.
the main character herself is so sweet but also has moments where she stands up for herself and i loved seeing that. i also really appreciated how the game showed some of the real struggles women face like dealing with creeps or unwanted attention. it felt realistic but not overwhelming and added depth to the story.
overall this game was amazing. the atmosphere was perfect a little dreary but still exciting and there were even a few jump scares that got me good. biker boy is definitely my favorite but lane with his sharp attitude is unforgettable too. i can’t wait to see more from this creator and to support in any way possible
it honestly feels completely unbalanced how much better biker boy is compared to lane. lane is basically the definition of an average “real guy” and not in a good way. he’s the type who spits out sexist one liners, hides behind forced humor just to cover up how deeply insecure he actually is, and then piles more issues on top like he’s the only person in the world with trauma. and of course, instead of growing from it, he acts like a jerk and convinces himself that somehow that’s gonna change anything. spoiler: it doesn’t
the immaturity is off the charts. he gets caught up in these embarrassingly petty problems like “oh no, the girl I liked chose someone else, my life is ruined” please. that’s literally the kind of thing every teenager goes through and eventually grows past. but lane? he wallows in it and acts like it’s the end of the world, as if throwing tantrums and being toxic somehow makes him deep or relatable
now compare that to biker boy. sure, he’s got insecurities too who doesn’t? but he doesn’t use them as an excuse to be awful. He comes across as honest, grounded, and mature. he actually acts like an adult, takes responsibility, and, most importantly, he defends you instead of tearing you down. he has flaws, but at least he handles them like someone who’s grown past the high-school drama phase
so yeah, it’s not even close. the difference between them is so one-sided it almost feels unfair. i honestly hope lane improves at some point, because right now he’s stuck in this cliché of immaturity and fragile ego. but he’s just not my type. maybe some teenager would look at him and think he’s “relatable” but from my perspective, he’s just exhausting

I love Lane and his dynamic with mc so much. The dialogues with him seem so real and close to real life, not just a typical 2d man. I feel like he’s that type of character that “barks” loud but has a soft and sweet soul. The scene of their “date” was so cute, the way you can see that it’s just his defense reaction due to trauma and etc (but I’d like to see more explanations of his nature, not just high-school breakup, like family patterns or anything else), though the smallest acts of kindness makes him react so sincere and innocent you can feel the warmth bc of their relationships. All that, even though I’ve downloaded the game for the bb lol. Also wanted to ask when do you plan on realising the 3rd chapter? So glad that I finally got around to playing this because I am INVESTED! First of all i LOVE the aesthetic! Black and white with splashes of red for important things is one of my favorite color schemes and it gives the whole game a gloomy yet kind of horror movie feel! I usually don't like when games are really silent or music-less but here the slight music or the times when it's just rain, or the complete silence is just as much a part of the story as the art so I left the music as is in my video. The whole vibe is chefs kiss! And Biker Boy is PRECIOUS, I love him already and Lane is a butt, i kinda hate him, and what i LOVE the most is that now that I've played Shift two and really explored them both I'm starting to see their facades dropping and my opinion of both shifting! I was already shocked by Amelia in shift 2! I adore a good mystery and already feel like I'm seeing clues, hope to WZ later♫

Such a cool game i played the first shift and really enjoyed it, however It doesn't say anywhere how many shifts creator plans on making? I really don't want to play shift two only to have to wait to update.
I've been spending the past 2 days grinding this game haha. It's just that good!! I've gotten the black-out drunk ending, broken nose, and BB at the door endings, but I have a feeling there's more for me to discover lol. I love the simple navigation system as well as the simple colour choices! It really adds to the spookiness of the game as well as the importance of the colour red. The art in this game is also delliciousss 👅👅👅
Personally, I'm a Lane girlie (don't come at me pls ik he's such a jerk) because he's normal lol. At least more normal than BB (I've got a zero tolerance for stalkers). Sure, he runs his mouth, but he's as the old man describes, "all bark no bite". Lane also makes me laugh haha. Not to mention, BB just rubbed me the wrong way when MC said she was scared and he just replies with "be scared"... yikes!

God, I didn't know this game would hit me so hard, maybe I shouldn't have played it right now, maybe I should've waited for my mind to heal, but honestly this game feels more like a reality than a horror game, a horror game to men but just an average day for women, the fact that this happens in 2009 but nothing has really changed since then, everything is still the same, the fear is still the same, honestly I've never related so much to a main character before, never, the way she thinks, the she's treated and the way she deals with it, it's all too familiar unfortunately, it made me sad in ways I never thought possible, I relived my life through her eyes and it was not enjoyable to say the least, that's what makes it a good game I guess, it's amazing in a twisted kind of way, I loved it despite myself, you did a fantastic job.

Honestly maybe if I wasn't so traumatized and my words weren't so raw, I could try to understand his character better, I mean I see where he's coming from, he was probably abused by his mother or something, I always remind myself that no matter how bad you had it, how traumatized you are, you can't treat people the way you are treated, I think he just needs therapy.
And yeah, Lane and Amelia are definitely very realistically written, I've had people like this in my life too many times before realizing I didn't have to put up with that shit, and yes you're right, it's good to put yourself first and your feelings first, but you can't dismiss someone who's going through shit just because.

at the end of the day lane just feels like every other “real guy” out there insecure immature hiding behind sexist jokes and fake humor acting like a teenage heartbreak makes him deep he might be the safer option sure but he’s also painfully predictable biker boy is messy unstable full of red flags but at least he’s not boring he feels alive honest and complex in ways lane just doesn’t and that’s exactly why in fiction people don’t really care about the safe choice they want the chaos and the intensity and that’s why biker boy will always stand out

I love Lane and his dynamic with mc so much. The dialogues with him seem so real and close to real life, not just a typical 2d man. I feel like he’s that type of character that “barks” loud but has a soft and sweet soul. The scene of their “date” was so cute, the way you can see that it’s just his defense reaction due to trauma and etc (but I’d like to see more explanations of his nature, not just high-school breakup, like family patterns or anything else), though the smallest acts of kindness makes him react so sincere and innocent you can feel the warmth bc of their relationships. All that, even though I’ve downloaded the game for the bb lol. Also wanted to ask when do you plan on realising the 3rd chapter? And thanks for that great amount of decisions u can make and long chapters xx

I've been spending the past 2 days grinding this game haha. It's just that good!! I've gotten the black-out drunk ending, broken nose, and BB at the door endings, but I have a feeling there's more for me to discover lol. I love the simple navigation system as well as the simple colour choices! It really adds to the spookiness of the game as well as the importance of the colour red. The art in this game is also delliciousss 👅👅👅
Personally, I'm a Lane girlie (don't come at me pls ik he's such a jerk) because he's normal lol. At least more normal than BB (I've got a zero tolerance for stalkers). Sure, he runs his mouth, but he's as the old man describes, "all bark no bite". Lane also makes me laugh haha. Not to mention, BB just rubbed me the wrong way when MC said she was scared and he just replies with "be scared"... yikes!

i dont like any of the characters and thats what i like about this game lane BB or amelia they are so gray and match the time of the game in the 2009 so good and as the story goes on shows that the mc have very bad trauma and it looks like her brain is kinda blocking does memories maybe past trauma idk we will see
but honestly very good character writing no good person just gray and even tho im not into either of them or like their action but since its fiction its safe to say im very interested in their characters

but anyways, BB is so fascinating. it's so cute to see him nervous and blushing ahhh he's adorable!! the hearts around him whenever you do something romantic are actually so funny to me that's how i see him 24/7 he's so cutie patootie <3 but then it's like he's a completely different person a minute later?? and it's so interesting??? that part where he suddenly gets REALLY mad when you mention having to go to lane's house was so cool i actually got jumpscared 😭 i love the contrast between the sweet romantic moments vs the horror moments in this game. im so invested in this and im excited to see what happens next!!!

God, I didn't know this game would hit me so hard, maybe I shouldn't have played it right now, maybe I should've waited for my mind to heal, but honestly this game feels more like a reality than a horror game, a horror game to men but just an average day for women, the fact that this happens in 2009 but nothing has really changed since then, everything is still the same, the fear is still the same, honestly I've never related so much to a main character before, never, the way she thinks, the she's treated and the way she deals with it, it's all too familiar unfortunately, it made me sad in ways I never thought possible, I relived my life through her eyes and it was not enjoyable to say the least, that's what makes it a good game I guess, it's amazing in a twisted kind of way, I loved it despite myself, you did a fantastic job.
What confused me though is Amelia, I honestly had a bad feeling about her from the start, I just hope we'll get to see what happened in the upcoming shifts, also I thought I couldn't hate biker boy more than I hate Lane and I was right, both are bad in their own ways, Lane just hits too close to home, Biker boy on the other hand felt more like ... Trying too hard, I loved him at first but when he kinda showed his true colors, I had a bad feeling about him, but nothing could ever make me like Lane, I just feel like the mc is already going through way deeper shit, she doesn't need him or Amelia fucking with her mental health too, I get that he has problems, we all do, but it's not her job to find out what's wrong with him.
I hope you'll drop some tutorial for all the endings when you have time though, I couldn't get all of them, I just hope someone we'll help with it.
Again, you did an amazing job with this, even though it left me more depressed than anything but I guess that's what I loved about it, that it was able to get me so emotional and sad, thank you for this, it's not everyday that you find games that portray such deep emotions, best of luck to you.

Honestly maybe if I wasn't so traumatized and my words weren't so raw, I could try to understand his character better, I mean I see where he's coming from, he was probably abused by his mother or something, I always remind myself that no matter how bad you had it, how traumatized you are, you can't treat people the way you are treated, I think he just needs therapy.
And yeah, Lane and Amelia are definitely very realistically written, I've had people like this in my life too many times before realizing I didn't have to put up with that shit, and yes you're right, it's good to put yourself first and your feelings first, but you can't dismiss someone who's going through shit just because.
But in the end it's a horror game, so I guess you either like or don't like the characters, obviously they're hot as fuck lol, but their personalities just hit too close to home, I think it's the first time it happened to me with a game, I don't usually behave this way, I'm sorry if my comment was too harsh, I was a bit triggered before I even played the game lol.
